Tracey Krousie (Lyons) VIEW PROFILE

Tracey Ann Lyons, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully after a long battle with liver disease on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She was 47 years old. Tracey was born on August 16, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Terry Krousie and Linda Hines Krousie.

Surviving family members include her husband of 22 years, Jeffrey Lyons of Flower Mound, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and her two daughters: Brittany Marie Lyons and Kaylee Ann Lyons. She is also survived by both parents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and the following siblings: Brenda Krousie Souhrada and her husband Todd Souhrada, Brad Krousie and his wife Tonia Sheriff Irons Krousie, Brian Krousie and his wife Tracey Beltz Krousie, Jason Krousie, and Alicia Krousie.

Tracey was a two-time liver transplant recipient, and she lived every day to honor the lives of her donors. Their selfless gifts of life allowed her to watch both daughters graduate from Flower Mound High School and Brittany graduate from Texas Tech University. Being a transplant donee led Tracey to be a very active volunteer with Southwest Transplant Alliance and Donate Life Texas. She, along with Jeff, Brittany, and Kaylee, would attend events to educate people about organ donation and enroll people to become organ donors. Such events included concerts in Dallas at Fair Park and NASCAR races. Tracey was chosen to have her picture on the back of Joey Gase’s NASCAR and sit in the pits for the race.

Tracey was a devoted wife and mother, who was always more concerned with how others felt rather than her own well-being. She was so kind and still the toughest woman, which enabled her to deal with her various health issues. Yet, she never complained or felt sorry for herself. She wanted to be, and achieved being, a great role model for her children.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville on Friday, February 18th at 4:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Donate Life Texas in honor of Tracey Lyons.
